Contractors employed in the development and construction of the prestigious new $300 million campus of The American University in Cairo, Egypt, turned to Cheshire based Aquaflow Valves, for the supply of a number of their robust and reliable Double Hinged Flap Valves.

The American University, which will be ready for occupancy in September 2008 and built over a 260 acre site, will incorporate an extensive storm and surface water drainage system, designed to remove wastewater from the campus. An integral part of this bespoke system is the use of several Double Hinged Flap Valves located within outfall applications to prevent reverse flow.

The Double Hinged Flap Valves selected feature a lightweight ductile iron frame & door, double hinge mechanism for optimal seating, anti-tamper stainless steel hinge pins, self-lubricating copper alloy bushes and a durable fusion bonded epoxy coating for additional corrosion resistance.

Aquaflow Valves shipped the requested quantity of valves, available immediately from its extensive stock holdings, within twenty-four hours of finalising the contract. An exemplary order turn-around and shipping schedule ensured that the valves arrived to site on time; an essential requirement when managing the continuous supply of materials and the work of over 6000 people on site daily.
