T-T’s TRN Aerators give an environmentally friendly health boost

to the nation’s lakes, streams and lagoons!

T-T PUMPS, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of pumps and pumping equipment, introduces the TRN Range of Aerator Pumps to prevent  the damaging effects of eutrophication within lakes, streams, lagoons and many of nature’s most beautiful natural water reserves.

When excess nutrients are added to surface waters, they can cause more algae to grow. This creates two problems; first, algae cloud the water and block sunlight, killing underwater plants which ordinarily provide food and shelter for fish and other aquatic life; also the abundance of algae ruins the visual appearance of streams, rivers, and lakes, and prevents them from being used for recreation.

If the above reasons to prevent algae growth aren’t worrying enough, the algae eventually die and are decomposed by bacteria - this process uses oxygen dissolved in the water, thus reducing the amount of oxygen available for fish and other aquatic organisms. This causes fish kills, reduces biodiversity, and in extreme cases, can wipe out all aquatic life, creating “dead zones.”

T-T’s TRN Range of Aerators greatly improves the aquatic environment by giving excellent oxygen transfer of 1.2 kg/kW at 20°C and complies fully with EN12255. In fact, within UK waters, as the temperature is often lower than 20°C, the oxygen transfer rate is greatly increased. Once oxygen is pumped back into rivers/lakes, it encourages fresh and healthy aquatic life to thrive.

The TRN Range ranges from 0.75kW up to 15kW, and can be easily installed as a free-standing unit, with a maximum operating depth of 5 metres for the larger units.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Sales Manager Ben Nash, or our Contracts Manager John Plant on 01630 647200 for further information on the TRN Range of Aerators.
