T-T Pumps is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join their Area Sales Team covering the central (North West and West Midlands/East Midlands) area.

Joining an exciting and fast-paced Sales team the ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who will represent and promote the company. The individual will ensure that the companies budgets are met, maximising the utilisation of available resources. The successful candidate will need to maintain strict control of expenses and ensure that the designated area is effectively and efficiently covered.

The individual will ensure that the companies budgets are met, maximising the utilisation of available resources. The successful candidate will need to maintain strict control of expenses and ensure that the designated area is effectively and efficiently covered.

Working hours/conditions

  • Working externally 4 days per week with 1 days at head office Monday-Friday.
  • Regular visits to client sites and exhibitions as and when required

Responsibilities

  • Achieve individual area sales targets
  • Ensure profitable sales
  • Maximise efficient coverage of the area
  • Minimise company overheads by careful planning and controlling expenses
  • Preparation and submission of weekly call reports and update CRM database
  • Quotation and tender status to be kept up to date
  • Feedback of information to manager, e.g. market trends, customer requirements, competition etc.
  • Maintain close contact with customers and build-up rapport, establish customer loyalty
  • Close monitoring of quotations
  • Weekly status and loss reports
  • Observe safe driving procedures
  • Maintain company vehicle in good, clean condition
  • Maintain and ensure that the company database is kept up to date
  • Liaise with other departments to maximise business potential and orders
  • Sales training of clients and personnel

Any other duties necessary:

  • Be flexible to the requirements of the business
  • Observe and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Policy
  • Undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time

Person Specification 

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the industry – DESIRABLE
Qualifications/Education/Training
  • Mechanical Engineering, ONC or equivalent – DESIRABLE
Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to work flexibly – ESSENTIAL
  • Team player – ESSENTIAL
  • Strong prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload – ESSENTIAL
Personal Attributes
  • Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ mentality – ESSENTIAL
  • Prepared to learn new skills – ESSENTIAL
Other
  • The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, with good keyboard skills, computer literacy and a can-do attitude.
  • Whilst Sales Experience and Pump Knowledge are desirable, these are not essential, as an extensive training programme will be arranged for the successful candidate.
  • More importantly is the desire to succeed in a sales environment, coupled with the ability to ascertain customer requirements.
