Bespoke Valves for Loch Eilde Mor, Scotland
The construction of the £13.6 million Loch Eilde Mor hydroelectric scheme in Scotland required custom high-pressure isolation valves in order to manage the application’s extreme pressure, so T-T Flow designed and manufactured three BS5163 DN150 metal seat gate valves with a pressure rating of 40 Bar – way above our standard 16 bar design.
Stainless Steel Knife Gate Valves for Green Energy
Severn Trent Water approached T-T Flow needing valves for their £21 million green energy plants.
T-T supplied 87 lugged knife gate valves featuring pneumatic cylinders with solenoid valves. The standard ductile iron gate valve construction was upgraded to stainless steel (grade 316L/1.4404) at the request of the client, providing them an ideally specified solution.
Custom Butterfly Valves for Oil Refinery
A major Iraqi-based oil refinery required custom-actuated butterfly valves for a large-scale plant refurbishment and came to T-T Flow to supply them.
T-T assembled 30 lugged centric butterfly valves to EN598 and rated to 175psi, coating the carbon steel body of the valves in a chemical-resistant epoxy resin to meet the demands of the application.
Customised Air Valves for Historic Scottish Distillery
T-T Flow supplied fully customised air valves to a historic distillery in Scotland. Due to waste product handling, the valves needed to be able to manage viscous material that reaches temperatures of 100°C - much higher than conventional air valves handle.
The supplied valves were manufactured in grade SS316/1.4401 stainless steel for corrosion resistance in the aggressive environment, with upgraded elastomers to ensure a reliable seal at high temperatures.
Upgrading Flap Valves for the Thames Tideway Scheme
The Thames Tideway Tunnel is a US$5B super sewer designed to intercept overflows and protect the River Thames.
T-T have supplied double hinge flap valves with upgraded materials and coatings to both the Albert Embankment and Blackfriars Bridge sections of the project. The coatings ensure longevity, while the majority have custom back plates to accommodate specialist anchor bolts.
Actuated Plug Valves for Manufacturing Efficiency
UK-based fresh ready meal manufacturer, Charlie Bigham, once famed for the world’s most expensive ready meal, turned to T-T for process automation solutions in his new state-of-the-art factory.
Several pneumatically modulating eccentric plug valves were deployed, increasing productivity and process efficiency on the site through precision flow control.
Inline Basket Strainers for the Peninsula Hotel
The luxury Peninsula Hotel, which dominates Kowloon in Hong Kong, came to T-T Flow for replacement muti-basket inline strainers to for filtering the site’s service water intake. Their pre-existing strainers were now obsolete, meaning a custom solution was needed to fit the exact needs of the site.
Our experts worked closely alongside the client's engineers in order to guarantee their rigorous standards were satisfied in the bespoke build, maintaining high attention to detail throughout the project - this included suitability for screening seawater due to Hong Kong's dual water supply.

Damped Check Valves for Hong Kong Drainage Services Department
The $2M upgrade of Tsing Yi Sewage Treatment Works, overseen by the Drainage Services Department of the Hong Kong government, required four bespoke DN400 swing check valves. The valves needed to be equipped with twin external damped weighted arms and flow sensing switches for essential backflow prevention.
The client was impressed with the machined weld deposit seats and WRAS approval, demonstrating successful third-party functional testing.
Fabricating Gate Valves for the UK's Largest Steel Works
Steel has been produced at the Port Talbot site in Wales since 1901, producing more than 5M tonnes annually.
When one of the historic site's wedge gate valves became unreliable, and a suitable replacement could not be found, T-T supplied a bespoke fabricated DN750 gate valve with imperial flange drillings.
The custom design maintained a historically face-to-face dimension that ensured minimal site downtime by enabling a speedy installation without the need for site modifications.
Bespoke Replacement for Obsolete Check Valve - Southern Water
During the refurbishment of a Water Treatment Plan under Southern Water - who serves 4.7M wastewater customers and maintains 365 treatment works in the UK - contractors came across an obsolete check valve that they struggled to find a suitable replacement for.
The experts in T-T Flow designed and fabricated a custom check valve and inspection cover that fit the site's pre-existing pipework - negating the need for costly additional works or downtime.
