The Challenge
At one of the Water Authority’s major sites, a Humus Tank was plagued by heavy surface scum accumulation. Traditional recirculation methods weren’t cutting it - they demanded constant reprocessing, drove up energy use, increased maintenance costs, and risked costly downtime. The Authority needed a smarter, future-proof solution - and that’s where T-T came in.
Our Solution
We recommended our Scum Skimmer, a robust, mobile unit designed for efficiency and reliability. Fitted with a Goliath Super® 250 pump (110V/1Ph), adjustable buoys, and heavy-duty construction, the Skimmer is built to handle low water levels, floating debris, and sludge without blockages.
The Trial
Over several cycles of 30–45 minutes each, the Skimmer removed scum directly from the Humus Tank surface to waste. Conditions included real-world challenges such as floating trash and thick sludge. Testing before and after each cycle showed a clear reduction in surface contamination.
