T-T Pumps was entrusted to supply surface mounted pumps for emergency dewatering at a new build mixed-use scheme in Marshgate Lane, Stratford, East London. Located on a post industrial site close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the development consists of 75 apartments and over 3500m² of commercial space, with a strong emphasis on community living including a large communal roof garden.
A robust pumping solution was required to enable the emergency dewatering of firefighting lift shafts at the development. As well as providing fast and reliable removal of water, the pumps needed to comply with regulations that stipulate the pumps have to be mounted outside of the shafts.
Looking for a reliable long-term solution, T-T was approached to advise on the best components to achieve the desired outcomes.
After consulting with the client on the required specification and operating environment, T-T Pumps supplied SAER AP-97 self priming centrifugal pumps to enable reliable dewatering when required. Capable of handling capacities of up to 30 m3 per hour, the pump features a 1.1kW, 2-pole, 400V/3Ph/50Hz/IE3 electric motor, offering powerful performance together with a high degree of efficiency. The pump can handle liquids between -15° C and 70° C, making it highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of environments and applications.
In addition, T-T supplied Libra A4/ES/1901 400V/3Ph/50Hz Single DOL pump control panels to enable simple and reliable pump operation and monitoring. This highly capable solution offers a standard fail-safe high level indicator lamp, volt free monitoring contacts, and a remote pump trip reset facility for use with our Text-Tel telemetry range.
FLO102 20M Float Switches were also supplied with a high level alarm, offering reliable level control. Designed for general purpose use, it is constructed from a polypropylene housing moulded to a durable 3 core synthetic rubber cable with an internal microswitch and rolling ball.
