Brass Gate Valves for Humanitarian Equipment

When a leading global supplier of humanitarian NGO (non-governmental organisation) equipment was let down by their usual supplier of brass gate valves, T-T Flow responded quickly to provide an effective solution.

An NGO is a non-profit organisation, independent of government influence, performing a variety of service and humanitarian functions for issues such as human rights, environment and health.

The Problem

The valves required were to be used by Oxfam UK on a clean water supply system in Sudan. This was in response to a variety of emergency aid situations, for both natural disasters and conflict environments.

Due to the required valves being used for drinking water projects in refugee camps all over the world, it was essential the selected valves should be WRAS approved and fully compliant with Water Supply Regulations and Scottish Bylaws.

The Solution

In order to meet the specification set out by the client, T-T Flow selected and supplied 30 fully WRAS-approved Brass Gate Valves, supplied with copper alloy (EN12165 CW617N) body/bonnet, copper alloy (EN12165 CW614N) stem/nut. Featuring a solid wedge design, the brass gate valve includes a fibre bonnet gasket, EPDM stem washer, threaded female BSP screwed ends, and is 100% full bore and handwheel operated. They are suitable for pipeline isolation for non-aggressive, non-corrosive and non-abrasive media up to 100ºC.
