T-T Are Finalists at The Cheshire Business Awards

T-T Pumps is delighted to announce that they have been selected as a finalist for the 2018 Cheshire Business Awards. T-T have been shortlisted as finalists for the ‘Lets Talk Apprenticeships Award’ and the ‘Exporter of the year’ award.

The prestigious Cheshire Business Awards celebrates excellence and outstanding achievement by local businesses and individuals, with the winners of some of the categories going on to represent Cheshire at other national awards. The ceremony will be held on October 12th, at Chester Cathedral where a large number of local businesses will compete in 12 different categories.

Heading into their 60th year T-T are an established supplier and manufacturer of pumps, valves, controls and pumping stations. They are now committed to taking their high-quality products into an international market. Our international sales and marketing plan has been developed to ensure all our staff are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to trade abroad. We have dedicated individuals who focus on international markets. These individuals have completed training from the UKTI to ensure they have an understanding of localisation, delivery, payments and other international considerations.

Other activity has included consecutively attending trade shows such as The Big 5 in Dubai, the world’s largest construction show and IFAT in Germany, the world’s leading international show for water, sewage and wastewater in Europe. Attending these shows has allowed T-T to gain exposure and create the lasting relationships with the customers and suppliers they maintain today.

Ben Nash, Sales Director at T-T, comments “The support that we have received from the Department of International Trade has been incredibly valuable in our businesses future. The growth we have seen has been huge, with exports becoming a substantial part of our turnover. To have been nominated for an award means a lot to everyone at T-T, but most importantly the staff, this shows that their continued hard work is having a positive impact.”

T-T operates six divisions that require many different engineering roles, from sales engineer to electrical installation engineers and design engineers. As a company, T-T is very passionate about encouraging the next generation of engineers and therefore offers a variety of apprenticeships to give young individuals the chance to progress in an exciting and rewarding career. Currently T-T have 30 individuals whom have or are completing an apprenticeship, T-T have supported many individuals with their career progression, allowing them to develop onto an engineering or managerial role.

T-T actively looks for apprentices on a yearly basis, and have strong connections with local schools and colleges, attending careers events and offering advice to prospective students. At T-T we aren't afraid to let our apprentices work on big projects, for example, they have the opportunities to work on large scale projects such as London Underground, Crossrail, and the M1 widening.

Jane Delicata, Controls division manager at T-T, comments “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the ‘Lets Talk Apprenticeships’ award. This demonstrates our dedicated work to support young individuals to kick-start their careers.”

She added: “I myself started at T-T Pumps through a YTS scheme over 28 years ago. Watching members of my team grow from apprentices to fully qualified electrical engineers is what drives my passion for Engineering and to keep inspiring the next generation. I now venture into local schools and provide workshops to equip them with as much information as possible to make informed career choices. ”

T-T believes that they have the credentials required to be awarded the ‘Lets Talk Apprenticeships Award’ and the ‘Exporter of the year’ award. This is an exciting time for the business and they look forward to meeting fellow locally based businesses at this fantastic event celebrating the thriving business in Cheshire.

The winners will be announced on 12th October at the Chester Cathedral.
