T-T Sponsors Local for LEJOG Charity Bike Ride

T-T are proud to sponsor the Ride For Hope team, nine friends from a little village called Betley, who are on their way across the country, travelling over 874 miles on two wheels to raise money for two charities close to their hearts. The ride started on the 3rd August from Lands End and they will arrive in John O’ Groats on 12th August. The ride will be raising money to support two amazing charities, The Christies and My Name’5 Doddie Weir Foundation. The Christie Foundation, based in Manchester, provides excellent facilities and completes lifesaving research to help those affected by cancer. My Name’5 Doddie Weir foundation was set-up to raise funds to aid research in to the causes of Motor Neuron Disease, investigate potential cures, to make grants available to individuals suffering from MND to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible. Ben and Barbara from T-T Pumps Ltd are a part of the Ride For Hope team and have decided to take on this momentous challenge. All at T-T Pumps are immensely proud of them and have given them copious amounts of support through sponsorship and donations. Ben has been companions with Doddie for many years and when Doddie was diagnosed with motor neurone disease Ben wanted to help share his message. Ben who is leading the ride for hope group says “I’m not physically ready for this challenge but mentally I am, so I know I’m going to get to end. I hope along the way I raise as much awareness and as many funds as possible for these charities. The Ride For Hope team have been dedicated in their training and I’m so proud to be apart of this great challenge” Barbara has been extremely dedicated to the training for the ride, cycling 30 miles a day for the last 12 months, both to and from work. Barbara comments, “if someone had told me I would have been cycling the distance of the United Kingdom 2 years ago I would have dismissed it within a second. I’m nervous but completely ready for this challenge. I’m proud to be raising money for two charities that are fighting for two devastating diseases.” You can follow the Ride For Hope journey on their Facebook page,  or support them through the Virgin Giving page.
