Submerged rainwater harvesting systems typically work through capturing rainwater from roofs and other surfaces before channelling it through a number of filters. These filters are there to fulfil a number of functions, from controlling the volume and flow of water to removing dirt particles. They’re available with a choice of chamber sizes, from small 1,350 litre chambers for domestic use, to bespoke 90,000 litre chambers for large scale commercial, industrial, or agricultural use.

Products in our rainwater harvesting range include the RainCycle® line, which features specialist solutions for garden, domestic, and commercial use. These below ground systems can help you to save up to 46% on your potable water usage.

What is rainwater harvesting?

Domestic rainwater harvesting collects rainwater from the roof, processes this through a heavy-duty self-cleaning filter and then stores it in an underground chamber ready for use in flushing, laundry, gardening, or irrigation.

Why is rainwater harvesting important?

• Reduce water consumption

Harvested grey water will collect through this process and be used for a variety of systems, including toilet flushing and external taps. This results in lower water usage, lower bills and equates to a greener premises.

• Reduces demand on groundwater

The main ecological benefit offered through rainwater harvesting collecting systems is the reduction in the use of mains water, which means that less water will need to be artificially drawn from the environment.

• Reduces floods

Local floods are often caused by an influx of rainwater into an overstressed drainage network, following heavy rainfall. Not only can this lead to flooding and road blockages, but to individual houses and gardens.

What can rainwater be used for?

Rainwater can be used for any non-potable (water that is not of drinking quality) application, this includes:

• Toilets

• Washing machines

• External use i.e. gardening, tap

The Raincyle Range

Products in our rainwater harvesting range include the RainCycle® line, which features specialist solutions for garden, domestic, and commercial use. These below ground systems can help you to save up to 46% on your potable water usage. Our range includes the following:

The RainCycle®, T-T’s rainwater harvesting system, has been specifically designed to utilise rainwater which would normally go to waste. There are three different systems available – garden, domestic and commercial. The rainwater harvesting system operates by collecting rainwater from the roof and diverting it into the RainCycle system, this then flows into the volume filter. The largest particles flow over the primary filter cascading directly into the storm water drain. The pre-filter water then flows over the secondary filter sieve and into the RainCycle chamber, via a calmed inlet to prevent disturbance. It is then ready for use!

The RainCycle® Garden rain harvesting system is designed for recycled water use in the garden or small holding. Collected, filtered rainwater is stored in an underground storage tank that does not obscure the landscape and where the temperature is stable.

The RainCycle® Domestic rain harvesting system is a below ground installation for the collection, filtration and storage of rainwater for use in the home and garden. The domestic system provides additional filtration on the pump intake as well as a skimmer siphon on larger systems to remove floating materials, which helps to prevent discolouration of the stored rainwater. RainCycle Commercial rain harvesting system offers ground installation for the collection, filtration and storage of rainwater for use within commercial and larger developments. The commercial system can provide storage for up to 90,000 litres within a single chamber and are designed specifically for each scheme to meet requirements.

The T-T RainCycle® Controller range of panels offers a simple and cost effective control solution within water harvesting applications. Designed for use with a 230V/1Ph pump, these units provide storage tank level monitoring as standard with the use of floats to detect and indicate water available.

Maintenance

Ensuring that filters are clean and clear is important. Although the system requires minimal maintenance, it is suggested that the system is serviced at least once a year. Our rainwater harvesting solution will help you create an efficient rain collection system for your property.
