T-T Pumping Stations are experts in providing and selecting the most suitable pumping station from the smallest to the largest scheme, ensuring efficient and reliable water removal. When T-T was approached by engineering consultants to select and provide a suitable pre-engineered pumping station to suit specific site requirements, the Saturn Pumping Station from the Planet Range was selected.

As requested by the client, this pumping station was required to pump an existing attenuation pond out into an existing ditch via a short-rising main. In order to accommodate the specifications set out for this development, a 2m deep Saturn drainage pumping station was selected, incorporating 50mm pipework, from our BBA-approved Planet Range. The 2-pump unit selected is suitable for small housing and industrial/commercial developments and provides capabilities up to 3530 litres and is therefore appropriate for handling the removal of surface water in this application.

The pumping station was to be lowered 600mm in order to generate head for the pump, along with trimmed pump impellers to increase pressure and achieve the flow rate specified. This was supplied with an 11-tonne fabricated access cover to withstand vehicles, and additional guide rails were provided to suit the total depth, enabling safe maintenance and pump inspection post-installation.

Two submersible DGO pumps were selected from our extensive range due to their high efficiency and reliability, as well as their low environmental impact and reduced CO2 emissions. A fully automatic control panel, activated by level switches, was supplied complete with pump trip/high-level alarm with audio/visual warning indicators incorporated. To complete the package, gate valves and reflux valves were selected to aid in the effective removal of the wastewater to the drainage network.

T-T handled the design and supply of this project on a supply-only basis, fully assembled and ready for installation on-site within 3 working days. Commissioning was also completed by T-T to check the installation, ensuring the mechanical and electrical components were correctly connected and in full working order prior to usage.
