Jupiter Package Pumping Station for Beaumanor Hall

When Leicestershire City Council noticed the walls of their newly installed underground pumping station were distorting and losing their shape, they sought out a single-source solution from a quality manufacturer and supplier of waste management solutions.

The Problem

The new station was needed at Beaumanor Hall, a Victorian country manor owned maintained by Leicestershire County Council. As a venue for weddings and other occassions, the hall needed a pumping station that could meet the demands of the crowds at such events.

Before the pumps were even installed in their first pumping station, Leicestershire County Council noticed the walls had started to lose their shape, raising concerns over its suitability for below-ground installation. Not only was this a serious health and safety risk, but it also carried additional financial implications. For these reasons, the Council made the decision to rip the station out and start again.

The Solution

We provided a 4.5m deep Jupiter® Pumping Station from our BBA-approved Planet Range, which are manufactured from strong, medium-density polyethylene and hydrostatically pressure tested for guaranteed reliability. The twin pump Jupiter® station is designed for larger developments, hotels, hospitals and sewage works and was therefore an appropriate size for the demands of the application. The station can be further modified to handle up to 15,000 litres and for incorporation into schemes where Sewers for Adoption specification is required.

The pumping station, complete with internal pipework and controls, was delivered to Beaumanor Hall where a Leicestershire-based contractor installed the new chamber. Our engineers returned to the site and completed the necessary commissioning work in a single day, leaving the pumping station in full running order to the client’s satisfaction and relief.
