Quality Assurance at T-T

T-T’s independent Quality Assurance department was established to strengthen our already robust systems and processes, coinciding with a much-needed overhaul of compliance and regulations across the EU in 2016. This ensures that T-T stays at the forefront of any regulatory updates, including the development of new products.

With this strategy in place, when compliance changed due to Britain's Exit from the EU, we ensured that 90% of our products achieved UKCA compliance within two years of the regulatory changes.

New product quality control was further strengthened by the introduction of our New Products department, which allows us to fully control the design, manufacture and introduction of new innovations.

Our dedicated Quality Assurance and New Products departments are solely focused on providing customers with high-quality and regulation-conforming products, keeping T-T at the pinnacle of compliance updates.

Environmental & Quality Management Systems

The following quality management systems underpin everything that happens at T-T, from internal and external communications to new product design, repairs and on-site testing.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 helps us to succeed in all areas of improved customer satisfaction, staff motivation, continual company improvement and efficient working procedures.

We are proud to have held this standard since 1988, view our LRQA certificate of approval -  ISO 9001:2015 Certificate

This quality management system assists us in developing new innovations from within the business, with the T-T team encouraged to submit ideas through our Business Improvements initiative. These can relate to new products or internal and external processes; on average we receive many ideas annually with merit.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an environmental management system at the heart of T-T’s operations, ensuring that we adhere to environmental regulations and are implementing practical steps to lower our impact.

We voluntarily produce annual GHG (Greenhouse Gas) reports to closely monitor our greenhouse gas emissions and develop plans to reduce them.

Quality Assurance Department

Our Quality Assurance department spearheads T-T's product quality and industry compliance efforts, manages any returns or warranty claims, reacts promptly to potential quality issues and oversees continual improvement within the business.

With ISO9001:2015 as their foundation, our QA department uses risk-based thinking and practical evidence to ensure efficient observation, improvement and customer satisfaction so that high-quality products are being supplied and manufactured throughout the business.

The QA team also oversee our sustainability objectives, policies and procedures to reduce our wider impact on the environment. (See ISO9001 & ISO14001)

New Products & Design

Our New Products and Quality Assurance departments work together closely to evaluate, design, manufacture and market new innovations within the T-T brand, focussing on high standards, product lifespan and reliability.

Controlling our own products allows us to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations while quickly reacting to market changes. Thorough product evaluation ensures each product is suitable for the purpose it is being developed and allows us to determine the product’s expected lifecycle.

New products are developed between the relevant department and our dedicated R&D team, who use SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D/3D design software, a 3D scanner, a 3D printer and fluid dynamics software to produce working prototypes which are tested to their absolute limit in order to verify performance.

Testing facilities and capabilities

At our HQ in Cheshire, we have the facilities to test, diagnose, repair and modify our products, as well as host product training for our team and customers so that we can provide them with the best possible service.

Batch Testing

We perform compulsory batch testing on a percentage of all products/goods that are received into T-T, this allows us to identify batch errors, maintain our high standards and minimise potential issues for our customers.

Incoming electrical products, such as control panels and telemetry units, undergo further electrical performance and limit testing in our on-site controls workshop.
