Securing Water Supply with Butterfly Isolation Valves

Service water reservoir.

Expert valve selection in legacy replacement projects can save you crucial time and money at the installation phase, something the knowledgeable T-T Flow team have successfully undertaken for numerous clients over the years.

The Problem

A distribution service reservoir near Market Drayton conducted a site survey and found that their legacy isolation valves were highly corroded and malfunctioning. Unable to maintain a reliable seal, they posed a great risk to the security of the water supply.

In need of a suitable replacement, the site’s primary contractor approached T-T's dedicated valve engineers to specify and fulfil the order within a short timeframe.

The Solution

Our experts worked from detailed site data to identify the most appropriate isolation valve for the service reservoir – one that negated the need for costly onsite pipework and operating equipment modifications.

We supplied two DN250 double flanged centric butterfly valves with flange drillings compliant with BS EN1092, this complemented the site’s existing pipework and allowed for a direct installation. They were also chosen for their robust design, enhanced sealing performance and WRAS approval for safe drinking water handling.

The butterfly valves are constructed from epoxy-coated ductile iron and a 316 stainless steel disc, offering increased strength and corrosion resistance for long-term reliability. An EPDM vulcanised liner ensures optimal sealing performance, as well as an integral ISO5211 interface for direct coupling of a worm gearbox.

The valves were supplied without any delay, taken from T-T Flow’s extensive stockholding at their Cheshire HQ.

Valves Supplied Fast

T-T Flow offer a wide range of WRAS-approved valves available on short lead times thanks to their large on-site stock, including the biggest range of WRAS-approved swing check valves, innovative four-function air valves, resilient seat gate valves and butterfly valves.
