An irrigation pump is a water boosting pump that provides pressurised water to an area requiring irrigation, e.g. to sprinklers in a garden or channels in a field.

Where an irrigation pump is installed will depend on the availability of water and a power supply as well as the application's terrain, as this can effect pressure requirements.

The type of Layflat hose you need is determined by the medium that it will carry and the terrain it will be traveling/working on. These factors will dictate the most optimal materials and construction grades for your application.

The lifespan of any layflat hose is dependant on how it is used and cared for, there is no standard duration.

The industry standard is 200 meters per hose, but this is not the limit. Hoses can be produced in lengths up to 600 meters, allowing for less couplings needed on the reeler.

Rubber hoses are designed to be used as a static hose, which T-T would always recommend. 

Yes, TPU is available in various grades with many brands opting for a lower grade to cut costs. We use a high grade for all our TPU hoses, offering the best wear resistance possible.

Here at T-T we hold large quantities of 102mm and 127mm in both rubber and TPU, with 114mm and 150mm available upon request.

• Slurry Hoses - Designed for handling abrasive slurry materials, commonly used in agricultural applications.
• Layflat Hoses - Flexible hoses that can be flattened for storage and transportation, ideal for transferring water or fluids over long distances.
• Drag Hoses - Heavy-duty hoses for dragging liquid manure or fluids across rough terrains in agricultural operations.

Slurry separating provides several benefits to farms and agricultural processes:

• Increased storage - separating slurry into solid and liquid contents allows for more compact storage, meaning less space and facilities are needed on site.
• Organic farming - separated solids and liquids from slurry can be utilised for a range of other applications, such as an organic fertiliser.
• Environmental safety - separating and storing slurry solids and liquids separately vastly reduces the risk of volatisation occurring, which can lead to leaks of harmful gases and damage to the surrounding environment.
• Green bedding - High dry matter-separated solids can be used as a source of green bedding for cattle.

A slurry separator works by pressing/squeezing the raw slurry to remove the liquid fraction. T-T's screw press separators use a double-threaded Archimedean screw and wedge wire screen for this process.

Separators can be suppled with screen sizes of 0.25mm, 0.50mm, 0.75mm and 1mm. Smaller mesh sizes allow for finer solids particles to be separated from slurry, whereas larger sizes will separate larger solids.

No - The HBC Biocell forms part of a complete system, it is designed to pasteurise the solid fraction that is discharged from a separator.

RMS (Recycled Manure Solids) can be used as a green bedding option for cattle if it conforms to DEFRA Regulations, one of which is that the slurry separator unit being used needs to produce solids of at least 34% dry matter (DM).

A standard slurry separator will achieve a max dry matter of approximately 25-30%, whereas a high dry matter version can achieve up to 30% DM plus - T-T's Dewatering Separator Range can achieve up to 38% DM solids.

Volatisation is the process of nitrogen decomposition within unseparated slurry whereby ammonia is released and converted into a gas or vapour. This can occur during slurry spreading (fertilisation) or storage, and if released can have negative effects on air quality and the surrounding environment.

Yes, T-T treats each application individually, providing a separator tailored to suit the needs of your site with one of four scren sizes we have available.

A standard slurry separator will achieve a maximum dry matter of approximately 25-30%, whereas a high dry matter version (green bedding version) can achieve up to 36% dm.

The Criman TBM, MXL and MXT are capable of haneling upto 12% total solids, with the TBX and AF range limited to 8% total solids. 

Mixers work best with circular tanks, however all tanks have the risk of developing dead spots. This is why T-T's mixers are supplied with rotatable guide-rail systems that ensure consistent and efficient mixing.

A dead spot reffers to an area of the tank that is least effected by the action of the mixer, causing a build up of material in that spot.

ATEX is the name of two European Directives for controlling explosive atmospheres, they provide guidelines on the categorisation of ATEX Zones and the use of equipment in these areas. T-T offers a range of products suitable for ATEX Zone 0 installations, defined as "part of a hazardous area in which a flammable atmosphere is continually present or present for long periods.".

• FLO101 Float Switch - contains a special low current microswitch and ATEX-certified barrier.
• Cri-Man PTS Chopper Pump - can be supplied with either a standard or fully ATEX-certified motor.

Anaerobic digestion is a biological process for decomposing various materials that is primarily used for the production of biogas. Anaerobic digestion involves the breakdown (decomposition) of organic waste materials such as sewage and slurry.

While both chopper and macerater pumps will break down fibrous materials, a chopper pump is a heavier-duty option designed for particularly difficult applications such as handling raw slurry. Macerator pumps are aimed at handling softer solids, such as general wastewater.

Piston pumps are a kind of positive displacement pump where a piston moves the fluid. They are designed with liquids containing heavy solids in mind, with Cri-man's PLD system being capable of handling up to 18% total solids.

A high pressure pump that is used for spreading/transporting stored fluids, generally featuring a heavy-duty chopping system that cuts solids and other fibrous materials before pumping to prevent any blockages in the system.

Umbilical pumps are used across many industries for transporting fluids such as oil, wastewater or food products:

• Transporting slurry from storage to fields for fertilising purposes.
• Transfer of liquid from lagoon to lagoon.

T-T’s umbilical pumps are designed for heavy-duty liquid pumping, with the inclusion of choppers to break down large solids.

Slurry pumps use a combination of more free passage within the pump case and a higher torque motor to pump heavier liquids. 

The distance you can pump slurry is very much dependent on the pump used and the viscosity of the liquid, small pumps are capable of transferring a few hundred meters whilst some large units can cover over a thousand meters. 

For slurry to be pumped, the liquid needs to be conditioned. This can include additional water or a mixer to generate a pumpable liquid.

To mount a slurry pump on a tractor, you will require a frame that can be attached to the three-point linkage at the rear. Once attached, the pump can be driven by a PTO shaft.
