Metal Seat Gate Valves for Sustainable Farming

The Problem

Bathhurst Estate, a picturesque farming estate with a focus on sustainability, found heavily corroded valves in their water distribution network. With the negative impact that these ageing valves could have had on the efficiency of their system and subsequent water usage, the farm was looking for rapid replacements.

The Solution

Our knowledgeable engineers in T-T Flow were able to quickly specify the best-fitting replacement valve model and arrange express delivery directly to the estate, minimising the chance of any wasteful water usage.

We supplied multiple DN150 metal seat gate valves, able to withstand 16 Bar and hydrostatically tested to EN12266.

These valves were chosen for their high-strength ductile iron construction and precision machined copper-alloy faces, guaranteeing optimal long-term sealing performance. Water distribution efficiency is further supported by a full-bore design that allows for maximum flow when the valves’ gates are open.

These waterwork gate valves feature a thrust-taking bonnet and stainless steel non-rising stem formed from rolled thread, reducing operating friction and overall component wear. The addition of a self-draining wedge and WRAS listed construction materials prevents stagnant water from accumulating within the valve and inhibits water contamination.
