T-T Plants 200 New Trees for Queen’s Jubilee

T-T Pumps has planted 200 new trees at its Onneley headquarters for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, continuing the company’s long-established tree planting programme that has run for more than 20 years.

The new trees have been planted as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique initiative created to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service and create a green legacy for future generations. The campaign encourages people and organisations across the country to “plant a tree for the Jubilee,” with more than 60,000 trees having already been planted so far.

Tree planting has been a key part of T-T’s environmental strategy for over two decades, with the initial plantings now reaching maturity. The new trees join 100 planted during winter 2021, and a further 250 in early 2020. The woodland at its site near Woore extends to over two acres and contains a wide variety of unique species including Red Oak, Lime, Cherry, Alder, Beech, Birch and Willow trees.

The scheme is as part of a commitment to offsetting its carbon footprint, led by a dedicated ‘Green Team’ who oversee its environmental strategy.

Lloyd Swale, Electrical Engineering Apprentice and member of the TT Green Team, said:

“The Green Team is proud to be part of the T-T tree planting scheme and especially as this year we can combine it with the Queens Green Canopy.”

Joining Lloyd in the picture (left to right) are: Maria Vasconcelos, Stock Controller; Gareth Reece, T-T Flow Sales Engineer; Theo Nash, Electrical Engineering Apprentice and Jaxon Housley, Electro-Mechanical Apprentice.

T-T has a strong commitment to the environment, holding the widely recognised ISO 14001 accreditation for its Environmental Management System. Other eco initiatives led by T-T-’s Green Team include sustainable packaging, paper reduction and a car sharing scheme.

Managing Director, Bob Nash, added:

“Tree planting has always been a key part of our environment strategy and is just one of the ways we are working to reduce our carbon footprint.

“We are delighted to be involved in the Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique scheme that will create a legacy in honour of the Queen and benefit future generations.”
