T-T Plant Hundreds of Trees

Local company T-T Pumps embark on planting hundreds of trees in a bid to combat their carbon footprint. A total of 250 indigenous trees have been planted this week including Red Oak, Lime, Cherry, Alder, Beech, Crab Apple, Holly, Willow, and Birch.

Tree planting is a key part of T-T’s environmental strategy which started more than 20 years ago. This isn’t the first time the T-T Team have taken out their spades and got green-fingered, it has been a work in progress for T-T to increase their woodland all in the name of decreasing their environmental impacts. The woodland now extends over two acres of our six-acre site with plans for further tree planting in the near future.

The facts are scary, on average each petrol car emits around 39 tonnes of CO2 in its lifetime, whilst each tree absorbs around 22kg per year, therefore we need to ensure that we are taking actions to keep our green surroundings as much as possible to combat the use of not only our vehicles but other activities that impact on the environment.

T-T located near Woore, has aims to become a more sustainable company, taking actions to reduce their environmental impact in many ways. Led by a Green Team at the company, so far their initiatives have involved changing all their packaging to sustainable alternatives, encouraging car sharing and taking steps to become a paperless office.

Managing Director, Bob Nash, comments, “Being a sustainable company is something that is important to all members of the team at T-T. That is why we are taking our environmental impact seriously. We have a number of initiatives underway with the tree planting being one of them. Here is to a greener 2020!”

T-T has established that education is the key to success in becoming a greener company and that is why all their team are on board and are enjoying taking these steps to become a sustainable entity.
