Meet Jane, T-T Controls Divisional Manager

Meet Jane, the Controls and Automation Divisional Manager at T-T Pumps. After joining us as an apprentice 32 years ago, Jane has progressed through the business, gaining valuable experience and growing her skills as an engineer across the different sectors of the company.

We sat down with her to ask some key questions about what it is like to work for T-T and what advice she would give to other females working in the industry…

What do you most enjoy about working at T-T?

“The most enjoyable part of the job is not knowing what each day is going to bring, because every day is different.”

What made you choose engineering?

“From an early age, I always had an interest in how things worked, so I knew that in some way, shape or form I’d end up being an engineer. Working at TT has given me the opportunity to progress through that career from starting as an apprentice in the panel shop actually building the products and then working through different divisions in the business.”

Why work at T-T?

“Having quite an unusual career choice as a female working in the engineering sector, the advantage of working at somewhere like T-T is that I’ve been given the opportunities to try my hand at various different roles within the organisation.”

What makes T-T different?

“T-T truly is a one stop shop for all pumping, drainage and effluent handling requirements. Those different divisions that we have within the business can either come together to provide a complete solution for our customers or work individually.”

What would be your advice to females working in the industry?

“My advice would be to find an organisation that allows you to have exposure to different sectors of the business so you can grow your skills and hone your talents before deciding what career path you finally want to choose.”
